I disagree. If he only jumps into her arms when invited to, it's fine and dandy. If he's not invited to do so that's a no-no, and he'll know it's verboten. My greatest dog ever knew to only to do that when I was wearing my coveralls, and we both loved the experience.
Customer I went to recently had a dog that would stand up and gently place his paws on people's shoulders to get petted. He would only do so if his servant told him okay Dutch.
